Antioxidants in a smoothie has to be one of my favorite combos. Currently drinking this blueberry smoothie – so of course, I figured I’d share!
I’m a sucker for anything antioxidant. Which is a good thing until I walk into Whole Foods and see ANTIOXIDANT written on everything. I swear one day they will have antioxidant water bottles and it’ll just be game over. If those are a thing please let me know.
And, of course, as you probably know (if you follow on snap) I’m also a sucker for smoothies. I have one (usually) every morning. Or after workouts or for a quick snack. Whenever, really. There is just something about them that I can’t get enough of, I’m not too sure what it is?
I became fully obsessed when I figured out all of the combo’s you could do with smoothies. Need to brighten up your skin? Add some beauty dust! Want healthier hair? Easy, here’s some collagen. Feel like you need some anti-inflammatory benefits lately? I feel you, throw some tart cherry juice into your post-workout smoothie. Bada bing bada boom!
I MEAN, COME ON.
The easiest, yummiest way to add all of your benefits into one drink. Count.me.in.
Alright babes, let’s talk about this blueberry antioxidant smoothie. I made it a few days ago and loved the taste and benefits, so I’ve been drinking it in the mornings ever since.
One reason I love it in the morning is because I like to get my fruit kick in the AM. I don’t really eat fruit after lunch. This has helped me with bloating – but that’s just me. Figure out what works for you and go from there.
WHAT’S IN THE BLUEBERRY BLISS:
+ 1 cup of almond or cashew milk
+ 1 cup of frozen cauliflower
+ 1/2 cup of blueberries frozen or fresh
+ small spoonful of reishi (optional but an amazing immune booster!)
BLEND all together and drink up!
I add unsweetened coconut shreds on top to spice it up, but totally optional.
It’s full of antioxidants and protein, plus vitamins and immunity boosters. Reishi is one of my favorite powders to add to a smoothie because it’s super beneficial to your immune system. The cauliflower is tasteless, I promise! I do this instead of a banana to add the creaminess without the sugar. Even if you want a banana in there, stick some cauliflower in too! You get the vitamins, fiber, and a super creamy smoothie.
