I once decided to delete coffee from my life. Ugh..
It was good, all went well, and it actually tamed my shakes and tension throughout the days at some points. I started sleeping better. I felt better, to be honest.
Then I missed it.
My heart was screaming it’s name and I couldn’t resist.
I can give up many things to help myself, but I couldn’t do this. I couldn’t go on without it… LOL. And I can’t lie to you guys, I’m a horrible liar. I started drinking coffee again after a month and a half of leaving the cup of caffeine behind me.
I drank decaf for a good amount of time, adding in a green tea throughout the day instead of three black coffees to get me through. It wasn’t bad. I actually liked it, and I still drink decaf sometimes because coffee gives me these horrible shaky hands that I’m pretty sure a dental hygienist is not supposed to have..
But, on some days, a mug bigger than your two hands put together, filled with regular coffee, is so necessary. More than necessary. So needed.
As I was going through with this new idea, I had the motivation to keep going because I wanted to see results so desperately. And I did, trust me. I was sleeping better, I was less anxious, I was more energized. And I still am – I only drink regular coffee in the morning – one cup. No more, no later. If it’s after 12pm – you will not catch me with a coffee in hand unless it’s decaf.
This helps with the sleepless nights – trust me.
And no more BA looking over asking me how many cups of coffee I had that day while I toss and turn in our bed he’s so peacefully sleeping in at 2am.
It’s all fun and games until beauty sleep is disrupted..
So, naturally, my coffee favorites. Some that got me through the break-up days, some that get me through during the rekindled days.
+ Coffee flavored natural gum. It is simply amazing – perfect for a pick me up in the afternoon when you want the coffee flavor. It got me by on numerous occasions when I broke up with the drink.
+ YETI travel mug. This is one of my favorite things (along with my other fifty water bottles). It keeps your coffee hot or cold for so long, and your hands don’t burn or freeze off – the best!
+ Hand painted mug. Only ten bucks and super adorable. I have one on my Keurig and my tea shelf for display. They are super cute and also really good mugs – even going through the dishwasher without losing their touch!
+ Mushroom coffee. I keep these packets in my purse and just mix them with water when in need – emergency stash. Plus, I haven’t felt so shaky with this kind of coffee.
+ Coffee canister. Adorable, that’s all.
+ Reusable BPA free silicone straws. I’m a straw addict – and these are an absolute fav. I use them daily (in everything) and if you are drinking coffee with them, they will help reduce staining on those pearly whites!
Anything else? I’d love to hear.
