Hi, hi hello!
If you’ve been reading for awhile, following on Insta, Snap, Bloglovin’, or however you get your Status reads in, then you know I’m a ‘quick meals’ type of person. I LOVE on-the-go situations. Smoothies, a handful of raw almonds, anything that is super convenient. I’ve learned that a lot of you are actually like this too, which I love! It makes me feel less.. er.. lazy in the kitchen? Gah.
Speaking of some quick smoothies, have you heard about my smoothie cabinet? It’s THE.BEST.EVER. I feel like I should do a post strictly on my smoothie cabinet and show you what is in it. Maybe a video? It’s that good, and it makes your mornings even quicker because everything is right there and super organized for you to just pop on into your NutriBullet! I MEAN, YES PLEASE.
And if we are being honest, which obviously we are (as always), I’m not the type of person to cook all day or night and that’s that. I’ve tried, very hard. I just don’t love it, you know? But, I’m super into health and wellness. My diet is a huge part of my life and I’m crazy about what I eat.
This mostly started because of my allergies and trying to reduce bloating in any way possible, so I have completely taken out dairy (except on occasions when I have a quick cheat day and eat the g-damn pizza because a girls gotta live) and I make a huge effort to be gluten-free (there are MANY different opinions on this, so do what’s best for you and make sure you talk to your doctor!). I feel like this should just be a post too, right?
OKAY ANYWAY, I’m done rambling.
LET’S TALK ABOUT LARABARS.
First things first, this post is strictly because I’m obsessed with making sure I’m eating the right things and I found a snack and I want all of you to know about and a million percent not sponsored even though it probably should be because my half of my bag is filled with LARABARS every day. But that’s that.
I came across these bars in Whole Foods one day, snagged one for the car ride home because I was starving, fell in love and never turned back. When I came home raving to BA about them, he wasn’t that intrigued. Like, YOU DON’T GET IT. TRUST ME. THEY ARE DIFFERENT. I begged him (literally) to try one that week… now he’s stealing mine.
We actually have to separate our LARABARS in the cabinet so that we know whose is whose. Then he comes at me one day with a “do you want to do a trade? I got three of the same flavors this week.” Are you f’ing kidding me?
Honestly, I’m not a huge ‘bar’ fan. I’m always checking ingredients on everything I eat and it’s rare to find a bar that tastes good but doesn’t have all those shit ingredients in it. I always felt iffy about ‘protein bars’ and I have stopped eating them completely within the past year because I never found one I loved. Most of them are LOADED with sugar and ingredients I don’t want to be eating.
And then, BOOM. LARABAR came in hot.
They taste good (banana bread and apple pie are delicious), they have minimal ingredients which are VERY clear for you to see, and most of them are only 3 ingredients. They have dates in them, which really gets me. I love a good date in my day to day eats. OH AND, they are vegan, plus gluten and dairy-free. I’m almost done raving, I promise.
I’m not trying to sound preachy, I’m really just obsessed.
It’s a bar you can actually trust to eat, let’s put it that way. And that isn’t easy to find. I know my on-the-go readers out there agree. I see you. I get it. I’m here for you!!!
WHEN DO I EAT THEM?
I will have a bar for breakfast after my workout if I didn’t have time to make a smoothie that day. I also keep them in my purse so I have one during the day if I need a quick snack instead of grabbing sugary snacks when I’m feeling cravings or starved.
