WHAT UP WHAT UP!
How are you guys?
I wanted to give you a quick post on some holiday glam because I worked with the sweetest makeup artist (Erica Wright from Glam Done Wright) on a holiday look so you guys could get all the details.
I’m not one for knowing a ton about makeup, I don’t really have the best tips up sleeve on how to apply fake lashes without getting glue in your eye – just being honest. I grew up being obsessed with skin, as you may know (more here, here and here), so makeup came second after that. I just threw on some bb cream and called it a day, you know?
BUT! don’t you worry – I wanted to work with someone who knows there shit about makeup so that you could get some GOOD makeup tips. And, well… Erica knows her shit.
My favorite time to wear a good amount of makeup and go all out on the glam side is around the holidays. I don’t really wear a ton of contour in the summer because I hate how cake-y it looks with the light, plus I love a sun-kissed look, don’t you? Add some jojoba oil and let those freckles SHINE.
But the holidays are a whole ‘nother story! Self-tanner and some major glam tops off your holiday party dress juuuust perfectly.
So Erica worked with me on a perfect look to do for any holiday party you are going to this year. I didn’t want TOO MUCH pop, but I wanted a good pop to really spice things up, you know? I hardly ever wear eye shadow, so a tiny bit of that really made a huge difference. Go with what works for you and your skin tone.
LET’S GLAM, SHALL WE?
MOISTURIZER: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Always apply a moisturizer before your makeup to prevent any dry patches, causing the makeup to get patchy. Becareful of moisturizers with SPF in them for night time looks, it could cause a flash back in photos.
SHADOWS: Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette
Always let the glue dry for a few seconds when applying lashes. This will help it to get tacky and become easier to attach. When applying, come from the top of your real lashes rather than at the midpoint of your eye. This will make cause the false lashes to adhere to the lash line and not catch any of your real lashes in-between. Also, attach from the center of the lash band onto your eye, and then the outer and inner corners.
LINER: Ruby Woo by Mac
How good is she!? I MEAN COME ON. I went out and bought a good beauty blender the day after working with Erica because it made such a big difference.
HAPPY GLAMMING HOTTIES – check out tips on keeping it right and tight during the holidays too! xx
