Hey, hey. Happy Friday!
BA and I have decided to pack up and move – same city, different location – and we are in the process of that good old packing fun!!!
I mean, is there anything worse? (Yes.) I know, but at the time it seems like you would rather do anything than put all of your things into boxes. Then you realize you’ve kept everything you’ve ever owned and wonder where the purging even begins. Gah. But hey, such is life right?
We are excited though, very very excited. We are also off to the Bahamas in a few weeks, so we are just on a packing binge right now! Good things to come, I’d say.
SO! anyway, I’ve been a little MIA because we have so much going on right now. A little recap: I took a nice, much needed, social media break last week and it felt really good. Do you guys take them at all? I feel like they are so necessary. I’ve been taking photography courses and learning more about my camera which I am obsessed with, I’ve been coding coding coding times a million because I want to know what’s going on behind my website, you know? And, of course, working to pay those bills we all love! So life is busy right now, but in a good way, good things are definitely coming.
But back to the point, I have good news. Since I’ve been packing up a storm over here, there are few things I have come across that really helped me while living with BA. We moved in together a year ago and this was my first time living with a guy (besides my brother at home growing up, but totally different). I think moving in with someone is definitely a wake up call.
BA and I run on different hours. I’m a horrible sleeper and I get a lot of my work done at night. He goes to bed early and gets up super early. I’m more of a ‘let’s watch TV while we fall asleep’ type of person and he’s more of a ‘let’s turn the TV off while falling asleep’ type of person. I read before bed, and I need a light. He doesn’t read before bed, and doesn’t need a light. I come home around 8pm, he gets home before that, so dinners were kind of tough during the week.
It was, for sure, a struggle to get used to someone else’s schedule when you are sleeping next to each other, but it was (of course) worth it. That’s how relationships work, right? You give and you take.
To have a little extra help never hurt, though!
Some things that helped me tremendously (and still do!)…
This baby. I can’t even explain her. You need one if you don’t have one, because they are life changing. BA and I struggled with dinner for a few weeks (or months..) because of how different our schedules were. This, though. This thing came in hot and it is so easy. You will actually have time to sit down and eat together instead of stressing about what to cook for the next hour.
Need I say more? Get your reading done while he sleeps away.
This thing! I love it. I have the pillow case – which has helped my hair so much. The eye mask is great for when your schedules are different and you need some extra rest when they are up. The silk one is great for your skin, too!
NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES.
If you or your significant other have to work from home or somehow get caught up in the same area while doing work, these are great. Also great for traveling if you need to zone out and get things done.
Yup, those are must haves.
What else? Let me know!
