Hi I’m Krissy and I’m overly obsessed with good skin.
I have this thing for it. Nothing bothers me more than when my skin is acting out of line – you know, random pimples and puffy eyes.
If my skin is good, things are good, know what I mean?
I’ve raved about coffee scrubs before that you should use in the shower – and it is strictly because my skin feels AMAZING after I use them. They are the best secret to the smoothest skin ever – try it. Trust me. You can use the scrub alllll over – arms, legs, butt, you name it. Scrub away.
Even BA fell for coffee scrubs – HA. He secretly uses them – I can smell it on him after (the smell is very… coffee-ish).
I’m also a huge believer in the whole ‘what you eat will show on your skin’ deal. I really do see a difference when I overload on cheese and crackers with champagne by accident… eh… it happens? When I’m drinking green smoothies all week and deleting the dairy from my diet, my skin is so much better. Those people aren’t lying to you!
OKAY SO. Along with coffee scrubs and deleting dairy, I’m basically a face mask psycho. I use them all.the.time. I have jars in my bag that are filled with masks so when I travel I am never without one. They are basically taking over my bathroom cabinets. Everywhere, always.
Face masks are the ultimate skin healer.
I like to think that I’m preventing my skin from anything, like I don’t want to get pimples so I do masks always, not just when I get a pimple. Prevention, people! It’s all the rage.
Sunscreen, less sun, masks, moisturizer, oils, everything and anything – prevent prevent prevent. I do NOT want my skin to age me one day, as high maintenance as that may sound, skin is just a thing I love and I’m all about keeping it up to date.
Making a face mask can be daunting to some people, but I’m kind of weird and enjoy stuff like that? It’s almost like baking, and a lot of masks you buy will have extra ingredients (not all, but some). Sometimes I am obviously beyond lazy and I just whip out my favorite jar of the magical face mask I love so much and call it a day. But for the most part, I like to make them.
SOME FAV’S YOU CAN BUY :
+ coconut charcoal mask (a fav)
THE MAGICAL FACE MASK YOU CAN MAKE :
I make this mask when my skin feels like it needs a bit of a cleanse.
It’s pretty intense (if you add everything) because the tea tree oil can be STRONG and some people don’t like it on their face – but I love this oil. It’s used for acne and A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. I just add a dab, literally. But you can definitely feel the intensity of it when you let this mask sit – so you can use it as a scrub instead if you want it to be less intense.
I, personally, love the feeling of it. But you for sure do NOT want to overuse this oil – you don’t want to dry out your skin.
I wouldn’t recommend this mask alllll the time. Just when you’re feeling a cleanse that is needed.
+ a DAB of tea tree oil (if wanted)
+ 1/2 cup of oats – blended to powder form
+ 1/8 cup of honey
+ spoonful of coconut oil
+ 1/4 cup of water if you want it as a mask – so it is easier to spread on!
TEA TREE OIL : great for acne, containing STRONG antibacterial and antifungal properties.
OATS : cleansing and exfoliating properties, makes skin super soft and smooth!
HONEY : natural antibacterial benefits with antioxidants, great for complexion and super soft skin!
COCONUT OIL : great moisturizer that has antibacterial properties.
This made a good amount, so I put it in a mason jar and kept it for a scrub.
I let it sit for about 10-20 minutes – but again, don’t overdue the tea tree oil.
My skin felt BRAND NEW after this. But do what’s best for you and your skin!
K babes, happy preventing!
